On the Move

Today is our last day in Talmo, GA. We got the U-haul this morning and have been packing up all our stuff. It has been a little bit of a crazy week. I have been sick this week which has just made it even better (sense my sarcasm). This is not one of my favorite things to do with my time, but I have enjoyed the purging that goes along with going through stuff and getting rid of clutter and junk. I have to be careful sometimes because I don't have much sentiment for little things. I am trying to learn, but I am really quick to throw things away.

It is getting sad now. Saying good bye to all our friends and family. There is a good thing though. This is our home base so it isn't good-bye forever. This has been a really good past 6 months. Dean and Judy have been so gracious to allow us invade their lives for this time, especially with our critters in tow. I hope everybody will keep in touch with us and keep us updated with their news. We love you all and look forward to hearing from you.

New Houst Guest!

This is our new house guest. He's a 5 week old Great Pyrenees. He'll probably grow to about 100 lbs.
He doesn't have a name yet. Although Zoe seems to like him. Hey...ebony and ivory baby!
This picture is super cute. He fell asleep here.
Oh yeah, he belongs to the neighbors. We're just dog sitting for a few days. Don't worry, we didn't get another dog. But I think he's available for the right price.

I had to put some pics of our dogs on here. It was such a nice day. Here's the dumb one Zoe.
Here's the smart one Bogie by the barn.

Not sure what to title this...

This is why people hate Christians and why people think Christians hate them. As a Christian, there are ways to reach out to our lost community. This is not it. Having worked in a very secular environment for the last two years, I've met a lot of people with a lot of different lifestyles. No wonder they are so apprehensive and resentful of "Christians." This picture was taken today in California in the midst of the gay marriages that were taking place. While I completely disagree with gay marriage, there are ways of getting the TRUE gospel out without causing the lost to hate us even more. This reminds me of the story in the N.T. when the pharisees were dragging the prostitute out in the street to stone her. I wonder what Jesus would write in the sand here?
This is really more than I wanted to say about this subject, but it really bothers me. Jesus was a friend to sinners. Lost people are lost, no doubt. But how else should we expect them to act? I'm not saying that we embrace every sinful lifestyle or whim. Please don't misunderstand. What I am saying is that I'm sick of seeing people use the name of Jesus to mask their hatred and bigotry. I don't see people protesting Krispy Kreme donuts or church picnics where all they serve is fried stuff with cheese and chocolate. I think I'll stop now.

Grill Night Part 2

I tried to upload a higher quality video, but it didn't seem to make much difference. I'll try to do better next time. This time Shana did the video work...which is way better. The music levels are better this time too (again, all done on Garageband which is a Mac only program and available on iLife...since you were wondering Marcy).

Enjoy!

New Video - First Cooking Video

I've become enamored with the software on my mac. I've been meaning to make some videos on iMovie HD, but then I discovered Garageband. Probably some of you have used it before, but it's very cool.

This is really a practice video. I know there a lot of things that could be better. The music (which I made on Garageband) is a little loud and a little busy. Less is more. Plus, the video is a little long. But, its fun. There actually is a part 2 to this, and it will come soon when I have a little more time. Enjoy the recipe. (the best part of the video is at the 4:10 mark)

Feedback is welcomed...but be nice!

Keepin' Up with the Shadburns

This is my pal Andrew (on the left). He has a mohawk.
This is Josh. Trying desperately to be as cool as Andrew...
...And failing miserably.

Our first Youtube video...
